Information

Ford-Gelatt was formed in 1989 through the merger of Gelatt Equipment (founded in 1967) with Ford & Associates (founded 1984). The merged company began in 1989 with 13 employees in one division and a single location. Ford-Gelatt joined the SunSource family of companies in 2012

Presently, the Ford-Gelatt division employees 35 people and operates a distribution center and a service center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and has access to the resources of the SunSource family including 800+ employees.

  • 1967 – Gelatt Equipment is founded by Dick Gelatt
  • 1984 – Ford & Associates founded by Mike Ford
  • 1989 – Ford-Gelatt is formed by acquisition
  • 1995 – FGA is incorporated as authorized OEM service center
  • 1996 – Facility expanded for growing service center
  • 2000 – Begin dedicated group for systems packaging
  • 2008 – Facility expanded for growing service center
  • 2012 – Ford-Gelatt is acquired by STS Operating DBA SunSource
